R22
30LB Refrigerant Cylinder
R22 refrigerant for professional servicing of compatible existing air-conditioning and refrigeration systems originally designed and labeled for HCFC-22. Confirm the equipment nameplate and service documentation before purchasing.
R22 quick specifications
R22, also called HCFC-22 or chlorodifluoromethane, is a single-component refrigerant historically used in residential air conditioning, commercial refrigeration and other cooling equipment.
Use only in an existing system whose manufacturer documentation identifies R22 as the required refrigerant. R22 is not R-22a and must never be mixed with another refrigerant.
Sealed and clearly identified
The steel service cylinder contains 30 lb / 13.6 kg net weight of R22 refrigerant and is supplied with a sealed valve for professional handling.
- One sealed R22 refrigerant cylinder
- 30 lb / 13.6 kg refrigerant net weight
- Approx. 16.5 inches high and 9.8 inches wide
- Non-refillable professional service cylinder
For existing R22 equipment
R22 may be used to service compatible existing equipment that was originally designed and labeled for R22. It is not intended for new systems.
Legacy Residential A/C
Older compatible split and central air-conditioning systems.
Commercial Refrigeration
Existing compatible coolers, freezers and refrigeration equipment.
Legacy Industrial Cooling
Existing cooling equipment whose label specifically requires R22.
Made for certified technicians
R22 service must be performed by an appropriately certified technician using compliant recovery, recycling, charging and leak-repair practices.
Follow the cylinder label, current safety data sheet, equipment manufacturer instructions and all applicable federal, state and local requirements.
- Verify R22 on the equipment nameplate before use
- Section 608 certification is required for stationary equipment
- Recover refrigerant—never knowingly vent HCFC-22
- Never mix R22 with another refrigerant
R22 Product FAQs
Clear answers about R22 compatibility, EPA certification, shipping, cylinder weight, storage and delivery concerns.
Yes. This R22 refrigerant is supplied in a sealed cylinder. The original product seal should remain intact until the cylinder is opened for professional service use.
Check the equipment nameplate, service manual and manufacturer specifications. Use R22 only when the equipment is specifically identified for R22 / HCFC-22.
R22 for stationary air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment is subject to EPA Section 608 sales restrictions. Eligible buyers generally include Section 608-certified technicians, employers authorizing a properly certified technician, and qualified resellers.
Coolantix may request certification, employer authorization or resale documentation before processing an order.
U.S. production and import of new HCFC-22 ended on January 1, 2020. Existing R22 equipment may still be serviced with eligible previously produced or reclaimed R22.
Always use an appropriately certified technician and follow the equipment manufacturer’s service instructions.
Orders are normally processed within one business day. Standard delivery is generally estimated at 2–5 business days after carrier pickup. Weekend and public-holiday orders are processed on the next business day.
Multiple cylinders may ship separately. Delivery estimates can be affected by carrier routing, weather, hazardous-material requirements and address restrictions.
A carrier label may display estimated, preset, dimensional or billing weight. This can differ from the product’s 30 lb / 13.6 kg refrigerant net weight because the cylinder and shipping packaging add weight.
If you have a concern after delivery, keep the cylinder unopened and contact us with your order number and clear photos of the cylinder and shipping label.
Follow the cylinder label and current safety data sheet. Keep the cylinder upright, secured and in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and ignition sources.
R22 is pressurized and can create serious exposure hazards. Handling and system service should be performed by a trained, appropriately certified technician using suitable tools and personal protective equipment. Never intentionally vent refrigerant.
Do not connect, use or attempt to repair a cylinder that appears damaged, punctured or leaking. Keep people away, avoid heat and ignition sources, and contact local emergency services if there is an immediate hazard.
For visible shipping damage, contact Coolantix when safe with your order number and clear photos. If tracking shows delivered but the shipment is missing, check the delivery photo, entrances, garage, front desk, mailroom and nearby properties before contacting us.
Email contact@coolantix.shop with the order and tracking numbers, or call +1 (825) 360-9654.
Eligible orders ship free via FedEx and are generally processed within 24 hours. Estimated delivery is 2–5 business days within the contiguous United States. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unopened, unused cylinders with original packaging and labels intact. Opened or used refrigerant cylinders cannot be returned for safety and regulatory reasons.
